Undergraduate Students
According to Regulations on Undergraduate Studies:
Undergraduate students academic status are classified into two groups:
1. Normal Students: students registering in their first semester, or students who have total GPAX of no less than 2.00
2. Probation Students: students who have total GPAX of from 1.50 – 1.99
Classification of undergraduate student academic status are processed after the assessment period in each semester, or the summer session which is the final semester of the students expecting to graduate in that summer session. For new students studying their first semester in the University, classification will be applied starting from the following semester.
Graduate Students
According to Regulations on Graduate Studies:
Graduate students academic status are classified into two groups:
1. Normal Students: students registering in their first semester, or students who have total GPAX of no less than 3.00
2. Probation Students: students who have total GPAX of from 2.50 – 2.99
Classification of graduate student academic status are processed after the assessment period in each semester, including new students studying their first semester in the University.
Academic Dismissal from GPAX Conditions:
- At the end of the first semester, a conditional student receives a GPA less than 3.00, or has received a grade of U in a non-credit course, or has not met the conditional criteria set by the Program’s Administrative Board and approved by the Faculty’s Administrative Board
- A regular student has a GPAX below 2.50 or a GPA below 2.50 in his/her first semester
- A regular student has a GPAX from 2.50 – 2.99 (on probation status) for two consecutive semesters.
Academic Dismissal from Other Academic Conditions:
- Receives a grade of U two times on the Comprehensive Examination
- Receives a grade of U two times, or does not receive a grade of S within the deadline set in Article 66 on the Qualifying Examination; unless the student is enrolled in a Continuing program and is given permission by the Program’s Administrative Board to change to a Master’s degree program
- Fails to pass the Dissertation Proposal Examination within the deadline
- The dissertation proposal is not approved by the Faculty’s Administrative Board within the deadline
- The student receives a grade of U in Thesis/Dissertation courses for two consecutive semesters; if the student takes leave between semesters, a student receiving two grades of U shall be counted as having received grade U in two consecutive semesters
- The student receives a “Fail” on his/her dissertation examination
- The student has registered and completed the period of study but has not yet fulfilled the requirements to graduate.
